Hero Project

In the second grade, at the school my daughters attend, they do an end of year project. The project is based on someone that the student feels is a hero (and they choose from a pre-made list). They do the research, create information boards, power point presentation, and then they do a verbal presentation for their teacher, entire class, and a handful of parents. 
Jessa chose Madame Marie Curie for her 'Hero Project'. My eldest daughter has always been interested in science so this was a perfect choice for her. 
She opened her verbal presentation by saying hello in all three languages that her hero Marie Curie spoke in her life. 
She was a bit disappointed when her teacher couldn't get her computer to work and she couldn't show her power point presentation that day. She was able to show it to the class later. Something else happened that morning....

As I sat and waited for the kids to begin a mom came up and sat down next to me. She asked me if I was Jessa's mom and I nodded and answered. She wanted to thank me for having such a wonderful daughter, so kind and caring. She told me that Jessa had stood up for her son while some other kids had teased him. Jessa had told the other kids that she really liked this boys new haircut and it was perfect for the warm summer weather.

That is when my daughter got an A+! Jessa, I love you!!!
